Self-Regulation

Empowering children and adults to manage emotions and behaviors through therapeutic play and use of other creative interventions

What is play therapy? Play therapy is a creative, evidence-based approach to healing that uses imagination to process emotions, resolve trauma, and build emotional resilience. While it’s often associated with children, play therapy is powerful for teens and adults too — especially when words alone aren't enough.

Is play therapy appropriate for all ages? Play taps into the nervous system, bypasses defenses, and helps us access deep healing. For children, it’s developmentally natural. For teens, it provides nonverbal outlets for expression. For adults, it opens the door to curiosity, insight, and integration.

What can I expect in a session? We combine neuroscience, attachment theory, and playful, expressive modalities to create a warm, collaborative and inclusive space. Whether through sand tray, expressive arts, storytelling, or movement, our sessions are tailored to your age, needs, and comfort. All sessions are trauma-informed and attuned to developmental stages.

My child needs therapy, but my ex won't agree to services. Will you still provide services? Regarding Joint Custody & Divorce Decrees: Consent for behavioral health treatment of a minor must be received by both legal guardians before RPT services with a child can begin. This requirement does not apply to non-behavioral health services, such as play groups, special events and other non-clinical activities.
